This is an amazing and gutsy microsite by Morgans Hotel Group (thanks, Aaron) that adds some life and levity to the recession mindset/discussion. Definitely worth checking out.
It’s obviously self-serving too, because the recession has been, and will continue to be a huge bummer for businesses like Morgans, hehe, but I’m impressed because I think that the site articulates a certain zeitgeist that I can point to anecdotally, at least — a feeling among friends, family, and colleagues that we’re ready to be done with the fear and wanting instead to just get back to work doing what we do best and, as NFL players are wont to say right now — “control our own destiny.”
The site is also geared toward’s Mogan’s jet-setting millenial audience, so if you’re not into nude dancing with Blondie on South Beach, you’ll have to look past some of the content to see the value.
But kudos to Morgans for picking up on that sentiment, and going balls-to-the-wall in seeking to capitalize on it.
