FeedHub

mSpokes’s newest product. Problem of information overload. “We don’t make your feed reader, we make your feed reader smarter.”

Demoing form w/in Google Reader. Example: thousands of unread items. Upload OPML file, it will analyze and deliver back a customized and optimized feed that you can subscribe to.  Couples human input with machine learning, both explicit and implicit, and anticipates what you will like and not like.

For me though, I much prefer to explore and find new things, much in the same way as when reading a hard-copy magazine, which always ends up with one reading an article one never would have picked up independently. You can tweak and change, for instance, telling FeedHub to recommend items hot to Delicious and Digg.  But even given that, with really good personalization I’m not giving myself to opportunity to expand my knowledge and expertise, flag items that are important to colleagues, etc. and I also think that  the process of discerning what is and is not important is an important thing to be doing on a day-to-day basis, as a way of staying sharp.  That being said, I’m going try this our right away! In a way, if it’s too good I won’t use it, but if it throws me enough curveballs it could be really, really useful.
